P3 hosts yearly Steel Drum and African Drumming workshops the 3rd week of June at the S.A.L.T. Block, in the Western Piedmont Symphony Rehearsal Hall.
No instruments required!
A public performance will conclude the workshops – date TBA.

The steel drum workshop will expose participants to Caribbean music and history of the steel drums as well as how to play this exotic instrument. Some ability to read music is necessary.

This class will teach basic hand drumming techniques, basic history, as well as improvisation.
